6/25/15
Mets Minor League Games - 6-24-15
Minor League Player of The Night - Michael Fulmer
Honorable Mention - Cyclone bullpen and Jeff Diehl
AAA - Las Vegas - (41-32) 4 - Salt Lake (28-44) 5
RHSP Tyler Pill - 5IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 6 K, 6.56
It all went reasonably well- except for 2 guys you never heard of, Vic Black and Tony Recker.
Black faced 3 guys, 2 BBs and a 3 run shot. Recker? 0-4, ,136.
Muno 2-4, 2 RBI, hitting .305. Tovar was 3-3. Only 2 other hits.
AA - Binghamton - (37-33) 1 - Harrisburg (31-41) 4
RHSP Michael Fulmer - 7.0-IP, 3-H, 0-R, 6-R, 1-BB, 2.70
Mack - Fulmer is 100% and starting to pay dividends as a past first round pick. An excellent trade chip in 2016.
Matt Koch stunk it up in relief, as he allowed 4 runs in relief to prevent Fulmer from snagging a well-deserved win.
Gavin Cecchini snapped out of his funk, with 3 hits including a homer, accounting for most of the offense.
A+ - St. Lucie - (35-35) 2 - Jupier (35-35) 6, 14 innings
RHSP Rob Whalen - 5.0-IP, 4-H, 2-R, 4-K, 4-BB, 3.19
St Lucie scored in each of the first two innings. But only managed 8 hits in 14 innings, and did not score in the last 12. Smitty went 0-6.
Jupiter aligned with Mars in the 4th; the score was tied by the opposition due to 2 unearned runs after a Phil Evans error.
8 scoreless relief innings by 4 relievers were undone by Julian Hilario, who allowed a grand slam in the bottom of the 14th and everyone got to go home.
A - Savannah - no game scheduled (all-star break)
Low-A - Brooklyn - (4-2) 2 - Tri City (3-3) 1, 12 innings
RHSP Jose Celas - 4.2-IP, 3-H, 0-ER, 3-K, 6-BB, 0.00
7.1 innings of stellar relief from Missigman, Pasha, and winning pitcher Carlos Valdez. The 12 inning affair, which featured 15 strikeouts by Cyclone hitters and 4 errors by its fielders, and 6 walks from its starter, was decided in the 12th on a triple by Jeff Diehl (.429).
Rookie - Kingsport - (1-1) 5 - Johnson City (1-1) 10
RHSP Erik Manoah - 4.1-IP, 6-H, 7-R, 2-K, 3-BB, 10.38
Dash Winningham collected 2 more RBIs, and has 4 in 2 games, Milton Ramos had 2 hits and a costly error, and catcher Pat Mazelka had 2 doubles in 5 trips.
Rookie - GCL - suspended - rain after 3. Daniel Murphy 1-1 and a walk.
Rookie - DSL 1Mets (11-11) 8 - Yanks (16-5) 7
Rookie - DSL 2 - Mets (14-8) 4 - Pirates 11-11) 12
The 2 DSL Mets squads combined for 9 miscues.
May I suggest Krazy Glue.
GOATS: Koch, Hilario, Manish...and VIC BLACK.
Very young million dollar signing baby Kenny Hernandez has not found it easy going in the DSL. With a hit yesterday, he is 3 for his last 18. Progress, as he was 3 for his first 43 before that.
