Highlights:
In the St Lucie game, Miller Diaz and Dave Roseboom surrendered nine runs.
in the Savannah game, Eudor Garcia clubbed his 6th homer and Casey Delgado surrendered seven runs and two homers.
In the Brooklyn game Tyler Badamo pitched 7 innings without surrendering an earned run, and Christian Montgomery was dazzling again, striking out the side in the tenth. In 6.1 innings, Christian has excelled, surrendering just 2 hits and striking out 12 without a walk. He is the most improved player this year so far in the Lower Minors.
In Kingsport, Dash Winningham hit his 4th homer in 13 games to tie the score in the 8th, and Kingsport pushed across a run in the 9th to win.
In the Gulf Coast loss, most notable were Ali Sanchez getting 2 more hits, and is now 16-32 (.500) on the young season, and former top prospect Luis Mateo returned to the mound for the first time this year, firing a scoreless 9th inning with a strikeout. Welcome back Luis, it's been a long road back from Tommy John surgery, and may it go extremely well for you from here on out.
Luis Mateo had thrown just 12 innings since April 2013 due to Tommy John. A mighty long road since then. Hopefully, he is 100%.
ReplyDeleteDash Winningham may just be a big bopper in-the-making for the Mets, in perhaps 2018. Dude will be 19 all of this season.
What is with Ali Sanchez???
One other late note. Nabil Crismatt of Kingsport got the call in relief in the 1st inning yesterday and tossed 5.2 innings, striking out 8. He now has 21 Ks and ZERO walks in 13.2 innings. Which is always an attention-grabbing ratio.
ReplyDeleteHe was followed by 2015 draftees Chase Ingram and Witt Haggard, who tossed 3 scoreless innings and K'd 5.
How do YOU spell relief? Crismatt, Ingram, and Haggard, that's how.
