  1. That Flores fella just might work out after all.......I think we are going to look back at the "almost" deal for Gomez as a blessing.

  2. I've been waiting for Flores, just hoping he got enough time in the bigs (with the Mets) to figure out the level offensively. He's just got a ton of offensive potential. I'll be very happy with him playing 130 games next season between 2nd, 3rd and SS. I'd pencil him In for .280 with 20 HR, 30 doubles, and a bunch of clutch RBI. (I know, there's no such thing as clutch, and RBI are meaningless. But still). The non-trade will go down as one of the best deals we never made. Now, if I could just stop envisioning Cy Young awards for Michael Fulmer.

  3. Well, a Cy Young is very nice for a player. But I'll take one of them Commissioner Trophies for the whole team. I think them's nicer.

  4. The Big Mets Machine.

I did an article earlier this year comparing the career stage Flores was at to how Jeff Kent and Edgardo Alfonso's careers unfolded. I still think he will comparably improve. He will get better offensively. My bet is he has a few 100 RBI seasons before he is through, when he plays a full season. A keeper.

  5. Flores is proof that when a player is looking over his shoulder and playing nervous - the fans show him that they love him, he relaxes and PRESTO - matching his numbers through the minors
