Now Here's the Scoop:
Las Vegas went with Seth Lugo. Wow. Seth-sational.
One run only, and 12 of his 20 outs by strikeout. Wow.
Chase Bradford almost threw it away with a miserable 9th, but Vegas prevailed. Erid Young Jr 1-4.
Binghamton got a fairly typical line from Matt Koch: 1 K, 1 BB, 9 H, 4 R in 5.1 IP. He failed to impress.
Scoreless into the 9th, then a TJ Rivera single, Josh Rod HR, and 3 more singles got the deficit to 4-3, 1st and 3rd, two outs. Excitement. But Jared King grounded out to seal the loss.
St Lucie sent Logan Taylor out to do battle. A great day to be a Logan. Wow. 1 hit shutout ball. No walks and 8 Ks. Wow.
Matt Oberste (2 hits, .298) scored the only run.
Savannah nails down its 18th straight in the opener!
Luis Guillorme may not hit with much power, but he picked up 4 RBIs to give him 55, quite a solid # from the 2 hole. Eudor Garcia added two RBIs to boost him to 55 as well.
In game 2, mighty Martires Arias tried to push it 19 straight. 0-0 in the 5th, looks bleak as Arias allows an unearned run, but Savannah ties it bottom 5...and the rains came. Again.
Suspended. Again.
Brooklyn won with great pitching and one clutch hitter. Edioglis Villasmil threw 6 Fine innings of 2 run ball, then 3 relievers unscored on. PJ Conlon still 0.00 sixty games into the season!
Light hitting Zach Mathieu (.181) has 3 hits and drove in a run in 3 different innings for the 3-2, come from behind win. A Big Zach Attack.
The K Mets won the first game. The usual wonderful 4 hitters (Kaczmarski, Mazelka, Winningham, and Carpio) did the damage. Kingsport's ace Nabil Crismatt (6-1) pitched, and he and Witt Haggard struck out 11.
Game 2? What else, rain.
GCL Mets - OFF DAY

It was a great day to be named Logan, as both were superlative yesterday.
