DOWN UNDER: Mets Minor League Update 9/6/15

Losses in all 5 minor league games, plus the NY Mets loss, made this one awful day for the organization.

STAR OF THE DAY: Matt Reynolds

HONORABLE MENTION: Akeel Morris

SCORES:

Las Vegas (77-66)  3 - Tacoma 6

Binghamton (76-64)  1 - Altoona 4

St Lucie (68-70)  2-  Bradenton 6

Savannah (83-53) 4  - Greenville 5

Brooklyn (33-42) 2  - Staten Island  4

Now Here's the Scoop:

Las Vegas went with Logan Verrett in hopes of making the playoffs in the final 2 days of the season. Hopes dimmed as Logan Verrett allowed 5 runs in the 6th and lost.  El Paso won in extra innings to cinch it. No playoffs for Vegas.

Matt Reynolds showed signs of life, going 4-4 (.270) with 2 doubles (32). Dilson Herrera 2-5 (.331). Call DH up.

Binghamton rolled with Gabe Ynoa, hoping to win his 10th in what has to been a disappointing season.

Binghamton has lost a bunch of its best offensive players and runs are harder to come by e.g., tonite's 4-1 loss.

Ynoa pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 runs, 5 hits and rang up 6 K's. He finished the regular season at 9-9, 3.90. Akeel Morris fanned 3 in his one inning of work. Smoker allowed 2 runs in his inning.

Duda had a hit and walk in 4 plate appearances. Bring him back ASAP.  No other real B Met offense to speak of.

St Lucie went with Kyle Regnault (4-4, 1.94 in 38 relief appearances) as its starter today. He was good, but Kelly Secrest allowed 5 runs. Matt Oberste (.301) and Colton Plaia (.285) had 2 hits apiece in the loss.

Savannah gave Casey Delgado (8-3, 2.91) the nod. He fell to 8-4, allowing all 5 runs in a 5-4 loss. Montgomery and Paez each threw effective innings. Paez has been very effective in relief in 2015, 4-2, 2.14.

Brooklyn looked to play its final 2 games at home against the Staten Island Yanks today and on Labor Day. Today a 10 inning loss Conlon allowed two runs in the 10th, but both were unearned, leaving him with a 0.00 ERA.
