O'Flaherty, huh? Let's try Alvarez.
ReplyDeleteLet's just keep Goeddel in the game.
ReplyDeleteToo much mix-and-match mentality from TC, who over-managed that game into a lose.
Then when a mix-and-match is totally in order -- O'Flaherty vs. a right-hand hitter -- TC completely ignores platoon advantages.
For the first time, I thought he managed tight with an edge of panic. The TC I was afraid that we'd see. To date, I actually think he's been calm and steady. Last night, he blinked.
Cost the Mets the game.
Also, 7th inning, forget trying out Gilmartin as LOOGY and just go with the guy you just traded for to pitch the 7th inning.
The fascination with LOOGYS could destroy this season.

Also, yes, I think we should be concerned with a starting rotation that is slipping almost across the board.
ReplyDeleteFor the Mets to win, they need great starting pitching. Everything is predicated on that.
