  3. I don't know about the Jon Niese forgiven part. I know he is struggling and I will not be booing him or anything like that. Today he was fighting for a role in the playoffs and he failed. He doesn't get a pass here. I think Matz and Colon are now higher up the depth chart.
I don't want to see Niese or Parnell in a meaningful game down the stretch or a playoff game. Maybe Niese could be a guy who comes out of the pen to get a couple of lefties out.
Looking back at the 5 run inning. The first couple of guys to get on weren't totally his fault. Zimmerman is smoking hot and Niese made a good pitch. Then a slow roller to Wright for a hit. Then, like so many time before, Niese crumbles under the pressure. A walk and a blast. Niese is proving he is at his best in games that don't mean anything. The rest of the Mets games mean something.

    1. I just meant the team pulled his ass out of the fire for today. If the Mets make the playoffs Jon needs to go to the pen. The team has the depth to put him there.

  4. Right now, I can't see how Colon could be denied a role in the playoffs.

  5. Ha! Now Bryce Harper is bad-mouthing Nationals fans. That's never a good idea. The kid's a great talent, but somebody needs to teach him to filter better. You can't just say out loud every thought that pops into your head. Unless you're Donald Trump, I guess.

  6. Dillon Gee 5 earned runs his last 4 AAA starts. Niese 18 earned runs his last 16 innings. Swap them in rotation?

  7. I'm very surprised Gee hasn't been called up. The only reason I can think of is that they don't want him in the club house.

  9. Richard....
    Absolutely points to that.
It appears a good explanation. Is that the players and front office believe Gee quit on the team in the closing days of his major league days.

If correct, I believe the evidence points to the players not wanting Gee back.

  10. Good news about YC agents dropping the 5 day clause though it was expected so now the Wilpons HAVE to back up the truck. There's no way the way he's played we don't make a substantial offer. Look if SA made the Gomez deal which means we don't have YO and Flo (weren't they a 60's rock duo?) the Nats are running away with it and were resting all our pitches not named Colon till next year.
