October 13th 2015 -- NLDS Game 4 -- Dodgers 3, Mets 1

Tuesday night in Flushing, working on 3 days rest, Clayton Kershaw was sharp and in control as the Dodgers win Game 4 of the NLDS 3-1 tying the series at 2 all. It was Kershaw versus Met rookie lefty Steven Matz. In the third the Dodgers got to Matz first.  With one out Kershaw singled. Enrique Hernandez swapped places with Kershaw on a fielder’s choice.  Howie Kendrick singled to make it  1^st and 3^rd. Adrian Gonzalez singled to center to score Hernandez and then Justin Turner, the former Met turned Met killer doubled down the left field line scoring both runners for a 3-0 lead. Kershaw was untouched until 1 out in the 4^th when Daniel Murphy hit a homer to right, his 2^nd homer of the series and second off Kershaw to make it 3-1 Dodgers.  Matz pitched 5 innings. He allowed 6 hits the 3 runs (earned) while walking 3 and striking out 6.  Bartolo Colon made his 3^rd appearance of the series and 2^nd consecutive appearance for the Mets and pitched 2 strong scoreless innings. Tyler Clippard pitched the 8^th.  Kershaw went 7 allowing 3 hits the 1 run walking 1 and striking out 8. The Mets hits were Murphy’s homer in the 4^th, a single in the gap by Juan Lagares in the 6^th and an infield hit by Yoenis Cespedes in the 7^th.  Kershaw picks up his 2^nd career post-season win; Matz gets his first post-season loss even though he’s yet to lose a regular season game.  Kenley Jansen pitched the 9^th for this 2^nd save of the series. Thursday night is the deciding game 5 in Los Angeles. Zach Grienke will be the probable starter for the Dodgers, Jacob deGrom (1-0 0.00) goes for the Mets.
