FLASH - Bartolo Colon
Right-hander Bartolo Colon has agreed to a deal with the Braves, pending a physical, reports MLB.com’s Mark Bowman (via Twitter). FanRag’s Jon Heyman had tweeted just prior to that report that Colon signed with a team other than the Mets. www.mlbtr.com Mack - Didn't expect this... and, this puts added pressure on Sandy and Company to create a healthy and productive 2017 rotation... my guess is that Robert Gsellman is dancin' in his living room right now.
The 20(?) year MLB veteran leaves on Veteran's Day. Not to trivialize Veteran's Day, but we thank Bart for his Mets service, and hope his saved salary gets Cespedes back here.
A youth movement for the Braves I see. Any chance they'll re-sign Julio Franco? And there was an Eddie Robinson sighting during the WS--he looked pretty chipper.

ReplyDelete$12.5 million is a lot of money for someone at his age but he certainly pitched like he was worth it.
ReplyDeleteUse that $$ towards re-signing YC.

ReplyDeleteHobie, Hank Aaron is planning to come out of retirement.
DeleteCould we interest them in a one year commitment to Granderson or Bruce? Nah, Bruce is too young.
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about a Colon & a Dickey in your rotation that makes me cringe.
ReplyDeleteNothing against Bart, but I hope he is a Semicolon in 2017, only half as good as he was for us!
