Tom Brennan - HOW 'BOUT THAT GAME YESTERDAY?

Tom Brennan - HOW 'BOUT THAT GAME YESTERDAY?

Man, how about that game yesterday?

No, not Cubs-Injuns, and no, not the big early season Brooklyn Nets' win over the Detroit Pistons.

Nope, I'm excited about the Scottsdale Scorpions (7-13) winning 8-5 in the Arizona Fall League!!

They had 8 big runs, 7 strolling walks, 6 hard hits, 5 fumbling errors, and a partridge in a pear tree.

There was limited Mets farmhand involvement in this one; I immediately assumed, with 5 errors, that Gavin Cecchini played, but he did not.  He no doubt was on the bench amazed at the level of errors!  "Who makes such errors?"

Kidding aside, Champ Stuart was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs.  He was also replaced late in the game, hopefully not due to injury 9don't think so, most likely a routine switch).  Champ is batting .372 (16 for 43, only 14 points behind the AFL batting leader). Keep it up and open some eyes, Champ.

The only other Mets' farm gem, the always competent Corey Taylor, threw well again, going 2 innings, allowing a few hits and a run and striking out 3.

Ex Met Akeel Morris got in the game, recording 2 outs, allowing a run on 2 walks and a hit.

Tim Tebow was diagnosed with a T Bone injury, and told to apply A-1 Steak Sauce to the injured area.

One non-Mets guy I never heard of that has been lights out is Jared Miller of Arizona's system: 13 IP, 4 H, 1, W, 24 K.  Just throwing it out there.

  2. Getting back to the "other" game last night, what do all the Terry-haters here think of the way "the genius" managed the past few days--- burning out Chapman in Tuesday's blowout, taking Hendricks out one out short of a W in the 5th with a 4-1 lead, having Baez bunt with a full count, etc??

If Terry managed like that he'd have been tarred and feThered or worse by now.

  3. Sorry.

I did not watch a single pitch of the WS.

  4. Lord Tebow is now 5 for 37 in the AFL.

And remember when peeps tried to convince me that Matt Oberste was looking better than Dom Smith?
    Oberste is 0 for 25 ;)

  5. @Bill -- who lost a World Series and who won one? Case closed.

  6. Funny, you didn't talk like that when we SWEPT them in the 2015 playoffs. And won the season series from them this year.

  8. Metsiac -

    I'll answer it.

    Pitching Chapman? Taking out Hendricks?

    Are you friggin kidding me?

It's Game 7 in the World Series. You leave nothing on the table.

How many games have you seen in your life? Three?

  9. Times 1000 or so. NO reason why Hendricks had to come out after 65 P, with a 3-run lead.I'd bet the house that if Terry did the things I mentioned, you and his other haters here would be pounding him mercilessly.

  10. Bill -

Do your homework and don't confuse me with Reese.

I'm not, nor have I ever been, a Terry hater.

  11. If not, then I apologize. There seem to be so many here that it's hard to keep track. And NONE have answered my question.I'm his biggest supporter, but if he made moves like Madden's I might lean toward joining them.
