Mack – Draft 5-Pack – Taylor Walls, Jared Poche, Jack Leftwich, Wil Crowe, Brendan McKay

FSU Baseball‏  @FSUBaseball  - SS Taylor Walls, who had walked his first four times up, goes DEEP for his second HR this weekend.

Tallahassee Democrat   -  Taylor Walls just finished a trip of a lifetime. Now it’s time to unwind. Walls, Florida State’s junior shortstop, spent the summer as a member of USA baseball’s collegiate national team representing the red, white and blue in a series of exhibition games around the world. The trips to Taiwan, Japan and Cuba in July gave Walls a different outlook on the game he’s been playing as a youngster growing up in Cordele, Georgia.

Teddy Cahill‏  @tedcahill  -  Seven more scoreless innings for LSU LHP Jared Poche today. His scoreless streak to start the year is at 29.

LSU Sports - A highly-touted southpaw who enters his senior season with 27 career wins; he needs 11 wins to tie Scott Schultz (38 wins, 1992-95) for the most career pitching victories in LSU history ... Poche' needs just two wins to move into the Top 10 in the LSU career wins category ... features a fastball that consistently sits in the 90 mph range, and he has a very hard 12 to 6 curveball that he can command ... selected by the San Diego Padres in the 14th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, but elected to return to LSU for his senior season ... a member of the 2016 SEC Academic Honor Roll as a kinesiology major ... received the 2016 Wally Pontiff Jr. Scholar Athlete Award as the LSU baseball player that best combines athletic and academic acumen.

Alonzo Wright‏ - @AlonzoCWrigh - 2017 TNXL Academy (FL) RHP Jack Leftwich 94-6 in the 1st settled 91-4 thru the 7th last 3 pitches in the T7 94, 94 95.5 pitch count CG 73 Pitches 0BB 3H 7K

Prep Baseball Report -  RHP Jack Leftwich (TNXL Academy, FL) made a jump in the last year, adding 10-15 pounds of muscle, which helped his fastball tick up

Gamecock Baseball‏ -  @GamecockBasebll - Great ovation for South Carolina RHP Wil Crowe as he departs. Partial line for Crowe, 6.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 SO

2016 story – scout.com - Wil Crowe is not going to sign. He announced it yesterday. He told his teammates today he will not, too. This is the second time the Indians have drafted Crowe as they took him out of high school as well and really tried to sign him then. He was rumored to have a big demand and if he did not get signed earlier it was going to be hard. Crowe was awesome as a freshman, struggled a bit as a sophomore and needed Tommy John surgery. He then missed all of this year. When he was at his best he was touching 96, and with his sinking fastball it was hard to hit. He has a chance to next year come out and be the ace for South Carolina who has had two other starters taken. He could raise his profile and be a first round pick. This is what is going to happen, I doubt there is a player more unlikely to sign than Crowe for the Indians in this draft.

Brian Sakowski‏ - @B_Sakowski_PG - Louisville's Brendan McKay went 7 shutout, only 2H/1BB with 15 strikeouts. Top of draft talent as both LHP and LHH 1B

Red Reporter - McKay cracks the list as a formidable two way player. In 2015 he was dubbed Baseball America's "Freshman of the Year." At the plate McKay is hitting .333/.414/.513 this season. However, he's too talented of a left handed pitcher, according to Crawford, for teams to pass up on that potential. This season he went 12-4 with a 2.30 ERA in 17 starts. McKay was originally drafted by the Padres in the 34th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
