Mack – Friday Starters: JB Bukauskas, Charlie Barnes, Tanner Houck, Zac Lowther, Mitch Hart

#10 North Carolina – RHP JB Bukauskas vs. Miami

John Manuel‏ - @johnmanuelba  - Bukauskas gets a 2-run cushion to work with after Jesse Lepore struggles a bit for the U with 3 BBs. 2-0 Tar Heels
Aaron Fitt‏ - @aaronfitt -  It's 6 up, 6 down for JB Bukauskas, who has his really, really good slider going early. Canes look overmatched so far. 3 Ks, on 97 & 2 SLs.

John Manuel‏ - @johnmanuelba  -  Bukauskas has allowed some hard contact on his FB, but liners by Gali & Davison have been caught. He's perfect through 3, 5 Ks

John Manuel‏ - @johnmanuelba - Bukauskas moves to 4-0, 0.90, has 60 SO/9 BB in 40 IP, just 21 H allowed

Minor League Ball - Bukauskas is the Tar Heels Friday night starter. The junior right-hander stands at just six-feet and 200 pounds, leaving many to wonder if he is a future starter or reliever once he is drafted this coming June. He is also younger for his class, having jumped a grade when in high school. One thing is for certain. He is relishing his time in the rotation at this season's ace. Last season was a big one for the righty. He went 7-2 in 13 starts for the Heels as their Saturday starter. Bukauskas posted a respectable 3.10 ERA (an even better 2.45 ERA in ACC play) while striking out 111 batters n 78.1 innings. His 12.75 strikeout-per-nine rate was third best in the nation. His work didn't go unnoticed as he made the mid-season Golden Spikes Watch List.

#7 Clemson – LHP Charlie Barnes vs. Boston College –
           6.0-IP, 4-H, 1-R, 11-K, 1-BB

Tigers - On the field, Barnes has grown into a reliable pitcher for the Tigers, fully embracing the role of a weekend starter last season despite never filling those shoes before opening day of 2016. He led the team in innings pitched (94.2) and strikeouts (84) during the 2016 campaign, and he believes that having the opportunity to throw as many innings as he did allowed him not only to grow as a pitcher, but also as a leader.

Teddy Cahill‏ -  @tedcahill   Arkansas defeats No. 18 Missouri, 9-2. Snaps the Tigers' 20-game winning streak, which had been the longest in the nation.

Missouri RHP Tanner Houck: - only 3.2-IP, 3-ER, loss to Arkansas

MU Tigers – 2016 - Two-time SEC Pitcher of the Week and named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week once during a sensational sophomore campaign that saw him improve almost every stat category from his freshman season. Started 15 games and compiled a 2.99 ERA in 105.1 innings, amassing the century mark in innings pitched for the second consecutive season. Limited batters to .209 hitting with 106 strikeouts against just 27 walks while winning five games. Tossed three complete games, two of which were shutouts, and added another 9.0 inning shutout performance against Vanderbilt in which Mizzou lost 2-0 in extra innings. Struck out 10 or more batters in three of his 15 starts and nine or more in five starts. Led Mizzou starters in ERA and led all Mizzou pitchers in wins (five), ERA (2.99), strikeouts (106), opponent batting (.209) and shutouts (two). Named SEC Pitcher of the Week and Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week following a dominant start against Vanderbilt (3/26) in which he tossed 9.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits as he carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning … He allowed just two fly balls over the entire nine innings that he pitched Saturday and only one of those fly balls left the infield (the other was a pop-up to shallow second base) … In all, just one ball hit by Vanderbilt in the air or on the ground reached the outfield safely … Retired the first 12 Vanderbilt batters he faced before a leadoff walk in the fifth and did not allow a fly ball until a shallow bloop to center field that was caught for out No. 2 in the sixth inning … In all, he had 14 strikeouts, 10 groundouts, two pop outs and another out on the base paths for the 27 outs … Houck's 14 strikeouts were the most by a Tiger since former Mizzou first round draft pick and current Minnesota Twin Kyle Gibson struck out 15 on April 3, 2009, vs. Oklahoma.
