GoCards
- McClure registered the win to move to 4-1 on the season and 17-2 in his
career after allowing just one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in six
quality innings. Freshman lefthander Adam Elliott added two scoreless innings
of relief and righthander Riley Thompson had two strikeouts in a perfect ninth
inning for Louisville, which followed Thursday's one-hit shutout in the
series-opener by limiting the Yellow Jackets (16-17, 4-13 ACC) to just six hits
in game two.
#4 North Carolina 7 – NC State 2 – RHP J.B.Baukauskas – 7-IP, 1-ER, 6-K, 6-0, 1.38
Dailytarheel
- J.B. Bukauskas had a no-hitter through five innings Friday. The junior struck
out six and gave up four hits and one earned run in his tenure on the rubber.
Pitching efficiently, his pitch count was at 94 when head coach Mike Fox opted
to the bullpen.
Vanderbilt 2 - #12 Florida 0 – RHP Kyle Wright – 9-IP, CG, 0R, 13-K, 3.98
WRUF
- It has been a series filled with contrasts between the Florida Gators and the
Vanderbilt Commodores in their baseball series in Nashville. After a thrilling 10-6 victory by the Gators
from the night before, pitching dominated the second contest as Florida’s Brady Singer and Vanderbilt’s Kyle Wright put
on a show at Hawkins Field. Both pitchers had complete games, but of course,
only one could get out with the victory. It went to Wright, who probably had
the best game of his college career. The Commodores ended up winning 2-0 as both
teams now sport 7-7 SEC records.
Minnesota 11 – Indiana 0 - LHP Lucas Gilbreath – 7.2-IP, 0-R, 8-K, 4-0
Gophersports
- Lucas Gilbreath started on the mound for the Gophers. He tossed 7.2 innings
where he allowed zero runs on two hits, walked only one batter and struck out
eight batters. This bumps the lefty up to a 4-0 record on the season.
#18 Stanford 5 – UCLA 3 - RHRP
Colton Hock – 3.1-IP, 0-R, 5-K, 5-0
gostanford
- Freshman Andrew Daschbach and junior
Matt Winaker delivered the clutch hits, and junior reliever Colton Hock took
care of the rest as No. 18 Stanford evened the series with a 5-3 win over UCLA
at Sunken Diamond on Friday night.
