2017 Draft - "Friday Starters" - Brandan McKay, Alex Faedo, Wil Crowe, Alex Lange, Luke Heimlick

Louisville LHP Brandan McKay –  5.0-IP, 0-ER, 7-K, 3-BB, 1.80, WIN -

Independent - Brendan McKay (8-3) earned the win, as he gave up five hits, no runs and three walks with seven strikeouts in five innings pitched. Lincoln Henzman pitched the final two innings to record his 15th save of the season. Four Cardinal pitchers combined to allow only two of Clemson’s 20 base-runners to score, as they stranded 16 Tigers on base, including 12 in scoring position.

Florida RHP Alex Faedo –   7-IP, 1-R, 8-K -

Floridagators - Alex Faedo allowed only two hits through six innings – but they came back-to-back in the bottom of the fourth inning and gave Alabama a 1-0 lead. After retiring the first 10 batters he faced, Faedo allowed a one-out single to Kyle Kaufman in the fourth and Cobie Vance followed with a double into the left field corner to take the lead.

South Carolina RHP Wil Crowe –  7-IP, 2-R, 9-K, 2-BB, 5-4, WIN –

Thestate - Wil Crowe earned the win for South Carolina (30-19, 12-13), allowing two runs in seven innings while striking out nine batters. Crowe (5-4) allowed a pair of runs in the third inning but was able to hold the Tigers in check for the most part.

LSU RHP Alex Lange –   9-IP, CG, 0-R, 9-K, 2.92, 6-5, WIN -

Auburn - Fighting Tigers' starter Alex Lange (6-5) was strong on the mound, tossing a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out nine. LSU scored all the runs it needed with three in the first inning and another in the second. In the first inning, leadoff hitter Kramer Robertson walked and scored three batters later on Greg Deichmann's RBI single. Antoine Duplantis singled and scored on a bases loaded walk by Beau Jordan and Deichmann plated the final run of the inning on Josh Smith's sacrifice fly.

Oregon State LHP Luke Heimlich – 6.0-IP, 1-ER, 7-K, 0.81, 8-1, WIN -

Registerguard - Luke Heimlich wasn’t at his best, but the NCAA’s top earned-run average did not go up much. The Oregon State left-hander allowed seven hits and one run in six innings as the top-ranked Beavers clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 Conference title with a 6-1 win over Oregon in front of 2,209 Thursday night at PK Park. Oregon got a runner on base in each inning against Heimlich, but only got a runner as far as third in the fifth inning when it scored once before grounding into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded.
