The talented but apparently fragile lefty is shut down for Tommy John surgery and will be out of commission probably until the start of the 2019 season. He had pitched to a 1.38 ERA in 2015 and after a late start in 2016 pitched to a 2.79 for Columbia.
Well, there you go. While it is a fairly common occurrence throughout baseball, in the Mets organization TJS it is a friggin' epidemic. Good grief.
