Haven't seen Edgin's numbers lately but wouldn't releasing Salas made more sense?
Yes it would have, but the "smartest guy in the room" traded for Salas so he would have to admit he was wrong to release him instead.
Interesting on Edgin. It can be good to quit on a so so guy while you're ahead.
Here's a big question: if AC isn't dealt do we waste another month "showcasing" him....ugh.
Gary - The Mets ALWAYS place their entire team on waivers in August, then pull back the names they want to keep long term. This will be the last ditch effort for the Mets to find a 2017 home for Cabrera. If they find none, they will cut him in early September latest
Right but it probably means AC plays regularly along with Grandy and good old Amed better not give up is apartment in sin city just yet.
So what? Big deal. The future will start a month later.
Smith is an incredible .400/.447/.752 for July. Why is he then insulted by a lack of immediate promotion?
Tom - Sandy said Smith will be up between a week from now but before September.
