Ex-Mets OF-1B, Jay Bruce, is seeking a 5-year, $80-90mil contract.

The following ex-Mets have become a free agent - 

    RHP Miller Diaz (Arizona), RHP Rhiner Cruz (Atlanta), OF Matt Tulasosopo (Atlanta), 1B Aderlin Rodriguez (Balt), RHP Domingo Tapia (Cincy), 2B Reid Brignac (Hou), LHP Ike Davis (LAA), C Cam Maron (Mia), and RHP Vic Black (SF)

    OF J.D. Martinez (Agent: Scott Boras) is looking for a $200mil deal, projected to be over seven years.

    Ex-Met Chip Hale to be named the Atlanta Braves bench coach.

    21-year out Cuban OF, Julio Pablo Martinez, is defecting to the USA... 2017 stats in Cuba: .333/.469/.498, 264-PA, 52-BB, only 30-Ks...  stats for Canadian-American Association: .297/.345/.449.

    From Rich MacLeod - 'in 2009, the Mets rejected a trade that would have sent Fernando Martinez, Bobby Parnell, Jon Niese, and Ruben Tejada to Toronto... for Roy Halladay.

    also I dont know how Rich macleod is but if that trade was true hopefully that person has long been fired...

  3. At the time Parnell was uninjured, Niese was on the upswing, Martinez was the uber-prospect and Tejada was, well, Tejada. It actually seems like a reasonable offer. They probably didn't want to pay Halladay's salary.

    Logan Morrison - cheaper than Bruce - a more likely choice.

    Sign the Cuban - ask questions later. Bring Cespedes a box of stogies.

    especially if their stats are only in Cuban 'A ball' league
