Hot Stove - 12-15-17
OF Melvin Upton has signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians. How quickly they fall... Houston has signed RP Joe Smith - $15mil over 2-years The Phillies have inked a 3-yr, $60mil deal with 1B Carlos Santana
Of course they're wet. He's been urinating all over Mets fans' dreams since he arrived.
Since he's determined to lose out on every option, then I'll likely get my wish of WIlmer Flores at 2B Which we'll then be told was the plan all along (and look how frugal he was not to give in to temptation on other options).
I wonder how he's going to rationalize the Cespedes/Lagares/Nimmo outfield or the balsa-wood rotation or the fact that NONE of the relievers he stuffed into his satchel last July are being considered as key pieces moving forward?
There are times I mistake analysis for whining and vice versa--mea culpa--but this is not one of them.
"...NONE of the relievers he stuffed into his satchel last July are being considered as key pieces moving forward" is beyond whining; it's whine turned to vinegar. What could possibly be the basis this analysis?
If relief pitching is indeed the number one priority they identified and then they go out to get one-year wonder Swarzak, if you're Jacob Rhame, Jamie Callahan and others, how is that supposed to make you feel? They either have no faith in your ability or have no intention of finding out what you can do. Or they simply acquired pitchers because the intention of the trades was to dump salary, hence no buy-down of any of the contracts.
Sandy is still rubbing two sticks together to try to start up the stove.
ReplyDeleteThomas,
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long it will take him to realize the stick are also wet.
He knows. He is the one that wet them.
ReplyDeleteHe is just putting up a show for those that aren't at "the smartest man in the room's" level.
Boy that Mets' management group really knows how to fire up the fan base.
