The lazy front office strikes again! I'm not condemning the move by any means, but reassembling what didn't work in the past doesn't seem like a formula for winning. Taking a flyer on someone who might have potential to advance would probably have been a better bet, but it's good to have a slick glove in the outfield if Juan Lagares gets hurt or traded.
Would have preferred Victor Cruzado :-).
ReplyDeleteI love it
ReplyDeleteGood. A useful piece if needed short term.

ReplyDeleteI now have in the Las Vegas outfield:
ReplyDeleteKevin Kaczmarski
Kevin Taylor
LJ Mazzilli
Jayce Boyd
Patrick Biondi
Zach Borenstein
Matt den Dekker
Maybe they can use a "beer league" softball set up with four or five outfielders all at one time? (kidding)
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder if there are plans to move Lagares or Nimmo in a deal? I view MDD as insurance, or depth if need be.
Mike, I agree - making den Dekker your 5th outfielder is not what playoff-hopeful teams do for any length of time.
ReplyDeleteHobie, the Cruz Missile is signing to play in Iran this summer :)
ReplyDeleteDidn't you hear? Sandy Alderson already declared, "Mission accomplished!"
