In getting the old band back together fashion, the Mets have reacquired yet another player from their past -- Israel Word Baseball Classic veteran Ty Kelly who joins the club on a minor league deal. The versatile Kelly has played middle infield and outfield positions for both the Mets major and minor league teams.

ReplyDeleteI'm a little confused about which infielder will play where come opening day.
My spread sheet has Cabrera, Flores, Cecchini, Rivera (DL), Rosario, Reyes, Frazier, and Wright (DL) in Queens...
And Guillorme, McNeil, Burdick, Evans, Kelly, and Thompson in Vegas.
The interesting thing is you can drive a truck through my Binghamton spreadsheet... Alonso on first, Ely om second, short is still open, and Woodmansee on third.
Do a couple of these guys go backwards?
I think Cecchini is back in LV.
ReplyDeleteMakes the Kelly move even more confusing.
ReplyDeleteKelly to me makes no sense on the face of it.
ReplyDelete4 man bench -- Flores, Reyes, Plawecki and whichever of Lagares/Nimmo isn't starting that day. 8 starters and a 13 man staff. Whomever pitches himself out of a job gets droppwhen Cobforto is back.
ReplyDeleteI think they see TK more OF than IF -- & the SWH replacement for V.cruz :-(
