Tom Brennan - A TINY TEBOW TIDBIT
Timmy T has not taken spring training by storm, going just 1 for 11 with 5 Ks.
Of course, he has yet to have a single pro at bat over A ball, so high expectations this spring would be unfair.
After all, the far more experienced Matt Den Dekker is only 3 for 24 with 9 Ks to date.
I just glanced to see how Mr. Shohei Otani is doing so far:
1 for 11...hmmm.
Tebow is keeping up with that uber-prospect so far.
And an Angel wannabe named Mike Trout is 1 for 14.
Good luck, Mike.
Yep, everything is relative - especially when I visit the family.
Have a great weekend, folks. LGM
I agree with the Yankees' announcers today.
ReplyDeleteIt is criminal that this guy gets starter at-bats when a true prospect could get the time and look-see.
If only we had a real prospect...
ReplyDeleteI would have given additional at-bats to either Guillorme or Alonso, or DH'd Nido or Mazeika.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to cut Tom a break and refrain from discussing Tebow any more.
True, Mack...save his ABs for the minors. Biondi should get more ABs.
ReplyDeleteDid the Yankees announcers say anything about ABs to Russell Wilson?
ReplyDeleteReese
ReplyDeleteI did not catch any.
Some observations from watching Spring Training:
ReplyDeleteC Nido just needs a bit more power batting and consistency. Will happen for him. But on his watch and not ours.
3B Frazier, looks a bit lost at the plate lately. Not sure why. Dig in Todd, you can be "Cincy" again. One word worth noting here may be...Weightroom. As we age, we have to build up more just to stay the same. Hope this makes some sense to you because so very true.
OF Borenstein, is an interesting player. Decent power swing, built like moose, just a tad raw still. Hang in there man! Believe and never give up. Rewards come.
3B Thompson, this kid is very close to here. I can see improvement. Shouldn't need much more than 1/2 season in AAA, at most. On some clubs, he would probably have made the 25-man now. Unleash your beast!
OF Lagares, having a nice glove in center is great, but his plate discipline is a tad off. May need to take all this just a little more seriously? Still it isn't too late, get'rdone Juan!
OF Nimmo, he is focused now and he is adjusting beautifully to MLB. Unlimited potential OF, will continue to uptick the dingers as he ages through thirties. Kudos Brandon #9, you believed and we believe in you.
SS Rosario, all I can say here is OMG! Kid has it all! He's Google All Star stock. Reproduce kid, a lot! (Please)
1B Smith, I just want to see him in ST games soon, so I can remember him from last season. Should be a really nice addition to what the team has assembled for 2018. Patience world. World moves slowly but the oxen they do not mind.
SP Wheeler, 99 mph yesterday and easily. I could barely even see the ball. Remember to stay within yourself, cool and composed. That is your unique undeniable strength. Your mechanics are art form smooth. Awesome. You are a top-end starter Zach!
SP Harvey, you are back Matt and it is soooo good to see. Enjoy it fully this time. Broads can wait!
Manager Callaway, you are silk man. You know your players and they know you. This is a team. The kind that goes far. Soon, it all begins.
