Impressive inaugural pitching job by Anthony Kay!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Blake Tiberi has been an offensive bright spot so far for the Flies.
I've never looked at Tiberi being a prospect, but he was a 3rd round pick out of Louisville (2016: .340, 10-HR).
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should keep an eye on him.
Gutsy, gutsy win by these NY Mets yesterday. Not necessarily pretty, but so darn gutsy. A team effort. Houston, we have liftoff!
ReplyDeleteStill early but what a showing Zach and PJ making in AAA Vegas so far. Strikeouts galore and a WHIP around .80. I could see both up here starting so easily.
Very proud all around of these orange and blue. They came to play and it feels so good! Mickey Callaway, thank you for being a Met!
Oh, forgot this...
ReplyDeleteHave watched a lot of MLB since opener. One thing I hope MLB will address (and very soon) is the totally inconsistent home plate ball and strike calling by their umpiring crew. I have actually never seen it worse.
It's not just the inconsistency of the strike zone umpire to umpire. But rather the inconsistency inning to inning by the same umpire. It's irking.
Since when are pitches 2" plus below the strike zone called strikes anyway? And pitches 1" just below the letters and right over the plate called a ball?
Is this still planet earth? Did my hinder fall through a space and time portal and into some fried new seventh dimension? (Please don't answer that Tom. LOL)
You want a suggestion here, home plate should be totally computerized through sensors that fairly and evenly read each pitch over and around the dish. It's really time to do this. The other three human umpires are fine. There.
Every ump seems to dream to be different these days, rather than live within the confines of the game.
