The Chihuahuas defeated the 51s, 13-4, in the opener of the three-game series and game five of the seven-game homestand (1-4 record) before a 51s Pullover Night crowd of 7,693 at Cashman Field.
El Paso, leading 6-4, scored seven runs in the ninth inning and six players recorded multiple-hit games.
Catcher Raffy Lopez was 3-for-4, walk, two runs scored; shortstop Javy Guerra was 2-for-5, double, 3 RBI, three runs scored and second baseman Luis Urias was 2-for-5, walk, 2 RBI.
Las Vegas right-hander Drew Gagnon suffered the loss. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 7 hits, 4 runs, walked 2 and struck out 6 on 87 pitches (52 strikes).
Left fielder Zach Borenstein was 2-for-4, walk, 2 RBI.
Game two of the series is Sunday at 12:05 p.m. on Little League Day #2 and Bark in the Park
