The Chihuahuas defeated the 51s, 6-3, to sweep the three-game series in the finale of the seven-game homestand (Las Vegas 1-6 record) before a Smith’s Value Menu Monday crowd of 3,236 at Cashman Field.

Las Vegas left-hander Jason Vargas, making a ML rehab assignment start, suffered the loss. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 hits, 3 runs, walked 2 and struck out 4 on 66 pitches (42 strikes).

Right-hander Chris Flexen pitched 4 innings in relief and allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, issued no walks and struck out 3.

El Paso, which improved to 11-1 on the road, won its seventh straight game and center fielder Travis Jankowski was 3-for-3, walk, double, HR, 3 RBI.

51s second baseman Ty Kelly was 2-for-4 with a solo homer.

The PCL has a scheduled off day on Tuesday, April 24. Las Vegas will then embark on a brief five-game road trip to Albuquerque, N.M., beginning on Wednesday, April 25. The series against the Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will conclude on Sunday, April 29.
