Eric Longenhagen - @longenhagen
Matthew Liberatore last night: 90-94, a few 95s and 96s, lots of 3s and 4s
early. Threw some of the best sliders I've seen from him this spring, curveball
still plus, change showing avg. Heat there was from picks 5 to 14.
Re 2B Nick Madrigal - I'm
saying if you're not on him only because of his size, you're gonna look like a
schmuck in eighteen months. Also, how's 5-foot-8 Shed
Long doing at Pensacola right now?

if Madrigal is THAT GOOD, I would be OK taking him despite his size.
ReplyDeleteSinger, Kowar, Mise, even Heimlich look intriguing.
After watching the Mets go into one of their hitting death spirals, I'd love a can't miss hitter over a pitcher who might turn to to need Thoracic Outlet surgery and love nightclubs. All the best clubs do one thing first: HIT!
Tom, I just don’t see five guys worth draft before Madrigal. I had hopes, I had wished he would have stay injured to hide him better, but cream rises to the top and so has he. After Madrigal, there really isn’t another difference making player to me, just alot of hype. Madrigal has the offensive tools to make a difference, and he’s the only one.
DeleteTexsGus, that is why the Collins folly of playing hot veterans almost every day in September, keeping the Mets from getting the 4th or 5th pick rather than the 6th, was so stupid. You can miss greatness by one draft slot. For instance, years ago the Nets got forgettable Keith Van Horn with the 2nd NBA pick....the Spurs drafted first and got the great Tim Duncan.
ReplyDeleteTom -
ReplyDeleteFor as good as Heimlich is as a pitcher, he is a major head case.
Put him name in Google and you will see.
I suggest staying away from him. A perect Nats pick.
Texas, Tom-
ReplyDeleteStop worrying about Madrigal.
He will be gone before pick 6
Tom, it happened with Blake Rutherford and the Yankees two years ago, so we took “the next best available”, Justin Dunn. Oh boy!
ReplyDeleteMack, I know. But I’m a Mets fan, so hope dies last.
It's pretty Obvious...
ReplyDeleteWatch the better teams in MLB. Compare to this team and it becomes somewhat obvious what's missing.
I like PJ Conlon move. Corey Oswalt is still AAA, but this could change quickly with some wins there.
I'm out. Be good!
