The 51s defeated the Sounds, 6-3, in 10 innings in game two of the three-game series before a crowd of 2,095 at Cashman Field.
51s center fielder Zach Borenstein (2-for-5, triple, 4 RBI) delivered a walk-off (no outs) three-run homer to left-center field. Las Vegas improved to 5-1 in extra-inning games.
Designated hitter Kevin Kaczmarksi (1-for-4) delivered a bases load two-out, RBI single to tie the game at 3-3 in the 9th inning.
Las Vegas right-hander Chris Flexen pitched 7 innings in the no decision. He allowed 6 hits, 2 runs, issued no walks and struck out 7 on 94 pitches (62 strikes).
Flexen, in his last four starts: 2-0 record, 26.0 IP, 16 H, 5 ER, 1.73 ERA.
Is Flexen finally figuring it out? We'll see.
ReplyDeleteI read Phil Evans while in Vegas had a leg infection that was so bad he needed intravenous antibiotics. Another bizarre Mets malady, but he said it avoided the bone, which would have made it much worse.
