January 16, 2019 – The results of the 2019 Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) Hall of Fame election will be announced exclusively on MLB Network and MLB.com on Tuesday, January 22 live at 6:00 p.m. ET, part of a five-hour announcement show beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s coverage will exclusively feature National Baseball Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson revealing the ballot results, as well as interviews with electees.

Anchored by Greg Amsinger and Brian Kenny, MLB Network’s comprehensive Hall of Fame election coverage will feature 2018 Ford C. Frick Award winner Bob Costas, MLB Network analysts Harold Reynolds and Hall of Famer John Smoltz, plus Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, Lauren Shehadi, and Hall of Fame voters and MLB Network insiders Jon Heyman, Ken Rosenthal, Joel Sherman, Tom Verducci and 2004 J.G. Taylor Spink Award winner Peter Gammons examining the 35 Hall of Fame candidates on this year’s ballot.

MLB Network’s live pre-announcement show will include new in-depth features on several candidates, including:

• A conversation between Mariano Rivera and his former teammate and manager with the New York Yankees, MLB Network analyst Joe Girardi;
• An oral history of Roy Halladay’s no-hitter in Game 1 of the 2010 NLDS, featuring his former Philadelphia Phillies teammates Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz and Chase Utley, and Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto;
• A discussion between Edgar Martinez, who is in his last year of eligibility for the BBWAA Hall of Fame ballot, and his former Seattle Mariners teammate Harold Reynolds;
• An essay by Peter Gammons on Mike Mussina in his sixth appearance on the ballot;
• Brian Kenny’s signature segment “Cooperstown Justice,” examining the careers of candidates Fred McGriff and Scott Rolen;
• Social media segments hosted by Lauren Shehadi, including Q&A’s with Hall of Fame voters via @MLBNetwork’s Instagram Stories.

On Wednesday, January 23, the National Baseball Hall of Fame press conference with any living electees in New York will be shown live at 3:00 p.m. ET on MLB Network and MLB.com, followed by in-studio interviews with the electees at MLB Network later in the day. Since its launch 10 years ago on January 1, 2009, MLB Network has served as the exclusive home of the Hall of Fame election announcement.

The 2019 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 21 and air exclusively on MLB Network and MLB.com.
