3rd Binghamton Snow Out In A Row

PORTLAND, ME – Wednesday night’s scheduled doubleheader between the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Portland Sea Dogs has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions stemming from snowfall on Monday and Tuesday. An announcement concerning the makeup dates for each game will be made at a later time.

Binghamton’s inability to play a game during their three-day visit to Portland marks the first time since 2007 an entire Binghamton series was postponed. In April 2007, a three-game series at home against the New Britain Rock Cats was postponed due to snow and unplayable field conditions. Earlier that same season, the B-Mets failed to play any of their first three scheduled games of the season in Akron versus the Aeros due to snow and cold temperatures.

It is the eighth time in franchise history that every game of a series has been postponed. It is the third time this has unfolded in Portland.

The Rumble Ponies return to Binghamton for their home opener on Thursday at 6:35 PM against the Erie SeaWolves. LHP Anthony Kay takes the mound for the second time this season against RHP Alex Faedo. The Horizons Federal Credit Union pregame show on Thursday starts at 6:20 PM and can be heard on NewsRadio 1290 AM WNBF and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies channel on TuneIn.

Tickets for the home opener and the rest of the Rumble Ponies home schedule can be purchased online at BINGRP.COM, over the phone at (607) 722-FUNN, and in person at the Starting Gate Box Office at NYSEG Stadium.
