With the 658^th pick (22^nd round) in the 2019 draft, the New York Mets picked high school senior RHP, Jace Beck, from Blanchard (OK) HS.

Jace Beck and Bryce Milligan of Blanchard were selected on Wednesday, the final day of the draft. Beck just finished his senior season at Blanchard, while Milligan just finished his junior season at Oklahoma City University.

Beck was selected in the 22nd round at pick No. 658 by the New York Mets. Beck came to Blanchard from Tuttle High School and helped the Lions win the 2019 Class 4A state championship as a senior.

Because of weather, Beck was able to start two games at the state tournament and managed to pick up a win in both of those games.

Beck started the team's first game of the state tournament against the Berryhill Chiefs. He struck out 11 batters and allowed just one hit in six innings of work.

After weather forced changes to the schedule, Beck was able to start the state title game against the Harrah Panthers. Blanchard defeated Harrah 14-5 to win its first state championship since 2015.
