DSL-1
OF, Carlos Dominguez: 3-5, R, .324
DSL-1
RP, Luis Moreno: 3-IP, 0-R, 4-K, 0.00
That’s
five scoreless innings so far for the just turned 20 year old.
DSL-2 20-yr. old RF Kenedy Corona: 3-6, .346
DSL-2 20-yr old RP, Antonio Villaba: 3.1-IP, 0-ER, 0.00
He’s
up to 14.2 scoreless innings in six games
A+ St. Lucie SP, Tony Dibrell: 6.2-IP,1-ER, 5-K, 2.67
Tibrell’s
longest outing so far this season, maybe this guy will be our next red starter.
A+ St. Lucie RP, Darwin Ramos: 2.1-IP, 0-R, 0.69
Rookie-Kingsport LF, L.A. Woodard: 2-3, .667
Rookie-Kingsport RP, Nate Peden: 5-IP, 0-R, 4-K, 0.00
AA-Bing 1B, Patrick Mazeika: 3-5, 2-RBI
AA-Bing RP, Stephen Villines: 2.2-IP, 0-R, 0.00
Guys
like Villines and Ryley Gilliam are learning
quickly that what you do at the AA level doesn’t automatically translate as
success of the AAA level.
2019:
Villines
–
AA: 0.00
AAA: 6.75
Gilliam
–
A+: 2.53
AA: 4.34
AAA: 12.46
AAA-Cuse SS, Ruben Tejada:

So,
the Mets fall into fourth place and their solution is to not go out and find
some new players for this team… no, they fire two assistant coaches and replace
them with three, one being a retread, and another over 80-years old. Oh, and
all three are already on the minor league payroll so, at best, this saves the
Wilpon’s some bagel money.
Pitiful.
Let’s
say one of radio stations back in the day lost 30% of it’s ratings, which was
closely followed by a loss of 20% of ad revenue.
Do
I go out and hire a new Program Director to program a new format? No.
Do
I hire a new Sales Manager and add three additional retail salespeople to bring
in new dollars until the ratings come up?
No?
Do
I hire a new receptionist and cleaning service?
Now
we’re doing it the Wilpon way.
AAA-Syracuse
activated RP, Ryan O’Rourke, off the IL
AAA-Syracuse
activated RP, Jacob Rhame, and transfer him to A+
St. Lucie.
I’m
not sure if this is a rehab assignment of a move one short of an ex-coach.
Either way…

A+
St. Lucie RP, Jacob Rhame: 1-IP, 0-R, 0.00
Rehab
assignment???
Rookie-Kingsport
catcher, Andres Regnault: 3-4, 2-R, 2nd
HR in two GP, 4-RBI, .600
This
is a good night of baseball.
I
DON’T NORMALLY post bad news here… thus, the ‘kudo’ title… but I can’t help but
say something about AAA-Syracuse SP, Anthony Kay’s performance
on Thursday night: 1.0-IP, 4-ER, 0-K, 16.20-ERA. Another pitcher that dominated
at AA only to hit a wall in Syracuse.
Send
the kid back to Binghamton and let him get his head of again. He’s the best we
have in the pipeline.
We need him in 2020.
A-Columbia
SS, Ronny Mauricio: 6-6, R, .291
A-Columbia
3B, Mark Vientos: 2-4, 2-R, 6th HR,
3-RBI
A
special shout out to these two guys for fighting through the 26 runs that
Asheville threw out at them that night.
AA-Binghamton C, Ali Sanchez: 3-4, 2-RBI, .288
This
kid throws out 50% of the players that try and run on him. Imagine if he could
hit .288 in the majors?
AA-Binghamton RP, Joseph Zanghi: 2-IP, 0-R, 1.95
AAA without being in Vegas, also. Time for Kay, Villines, and Gilliam to regroup.
ReplyDeleteRoseboom has always been a puzzle to me in the mold of Paul Sewald. He was dominant at many places in the minors but just couldn't cut it in AAA. Granted, he had repercussions from a broken foot when he was in Las Vegas, but I had had high hopes for this in-house lefty being a contributor.
