A+
St. Lucie RP, Yeizo Campos: 1-IP, 0-ER, 1.31
Low-A
Brooklyn CF, Jake Magnum: 1-5, .200
First
hit in his first pro game.
Low-A
Brooklyn RP, Mitch Ragan: 2-IP, 0-R, 3-K, 1.23
2019’s
15th pick out of Creighton University.
RHP

Low
mid-90s fastball with ++ 12-6 curve
3-yr
starter for last 3-years, so another conversion needed here.
Rookie
GCL-Mets 3B, Brett Baty: Grand Slam HR, .350
Rookie
DSL-Mets CF, Omar De Los Santos: 4-4, 2-R, RBI
Rookie
DSL-1 RF, Freddy Valdez: 3-5, 2-R
Tuesday, July 2nd:
AAA-Syracuse
IF, Dilson Herrera, retires.
My
guess is Dilson looked into the mirror and realized that a zillion AAA home
runs would still not get him another shot in the majors.
Good
luck Dilson… yet I have a feeling we haven’t heard the last baseball word on
this guy.
In
one sweeping move, the Mets:
-activate
relief pitchers Luis Avilan, Jeurys Familia, and
J.D. Davis.
-promote
IF Luis Gullorme to the Mets
-send
RP Ryan O’Rourke to AAA-Syracuse and place him
on the temporary IL
AAA-Syracuse
returns SP, Harol Gonzalez, to AA-Binghamton
My
guess is he was first promoted just to spot start until Corey Oswalt healed.
AA-Binghamton 3B, Will
Toffey, placed on the IL.
Toffey,
a once projected blue prospect, hs had a
disappointing season so far for the B-Mets (.227).
OF Hansel
Moreno was transferred from A-Columbia to A+ St. Lucie
Moreno
had an early stint with Lucy (92-AB, .120), but has earned a return after going
.276 for Columbia in 116-AB,
RP Zach
Rheams was transferred from Low-A Brooklyn to A-Columbia.
So
far, in two pro seasons, Rheams has a combined BA of .218. Looks more each day
at becoming minor league OF5.
SP Thomas
Szapucki was promoted from A-Columbia to A+ St. Lucie.
It
looks like the Mets have ended his rehab assignment in South Carolina and have
returned him to full active duty. That’s just great news for my top projected
starter in the chain.
The
Mets signed the number one outfielder in the 2019 International draft, Alexander Ramirez, for a $2.05mil signing bonues.
Ramirez
“already shows advanced hitting skills and knowledge of the strike zone. He
makes solid contact at the plate and is known for hitting line drives to all
fields.”
Defensively,
he is a “true center fielder and has the skill set to stay at the position as
he grows and develops. He projects to be a plus runner and that skill will help
make him into an above-average defender.
The
Mets sign SS Junior Tillen out of the D.R.
No details yet.
The
Mets inked another outfielder. Jostin Almonte.
No details yet.
After
FIVE gmes, 3B Brett Baty is promoted from the
GCL-Mets to Rookie-Kingsport.
Similar
to the moves made last season with Jarred Kelenic.
My
guess is Jaylen Palmer will be sent back to the
GCL-Mets. He’s been playing third for Kingsport and hitting .239

DSL-2
SP, Ricardo Rodriguez: 4-IP, 0-ER, 3-K
DSL-1
SP, Joon Feliz: 1-IP, 0-R, 0.00
Yes, it was a one inning start.
And yes, his first name is Joon.
GCL-Mets
catcher, Francisco Alvarez: 2-4, R, 2-RBI, .409
Every
day it looks like Alvarez in the real deal.
Like
Brett Baty, the Mets may
want to consider an
early bump to Rookie-Kingsport and promoting blue prospect,
Andres Regnault, to Low-A Brooklyn.
Rookie-GCL Mets RP, Marcos Correa: 1.1-IP, 0-R, 0.00
Rookie-Kingsport SP, Ramon Guzman: 5.2-IP, 0-R, 5-K, 0.00
AAA-Syracuse RP, Ryley Gilliam: 1-IP, 0-R, K
Low-A Brooklyn CF, Jake Magnum: 2-5, R, RBI, .300
Boy,
this is a great draft.
Low-A Brooklyn 1B, Joe Genord: 2-5, R, 4th HR, 5-RBI
Like
I said…
Low-A Brooklyn SS, Brandon Fryman: 3-4, R, .500
Low-A Brooklyn SP, Daison Acosta: 5-IP, 0-ER, 6-K, 0.98
Can the trio of bullpen returnees to the Mets save a sinking ship?
ReplyDeleteJaylen Palmer strikes out like Sherveyn Newton - too much - he has to fix that.
I look forward to seeing if Mangum can be another Jeff McNeil.
