      Kudos –

            AAA-Syracuse – SP Corey Oswalt: 6-IP, 0-ER, 8-K
Don’t get excited here. We know what he will do if he is promoted again.

AA-Binghamton – 1B Patrick Mazeika: 2-5, 2-R 2-HR, 2-RBI, .256
Mazeika gives us an option after next year’s all-start game, He has a premier bat and could be both the backup catcher and first baseman on the parent club.
I really like this guy.

            A+ St. Lucie – RP Ezequiel Zabaleta: 1-IP, 0-R, 2.42
In 34 combined appearances between A and A+, my blue prospect is now is 403, 2.09.

A-Columbia – SS Ronny Mauricio: 3-5, 2-R, 19th double, RBI, .280
Ronny’s bat is lighting u
p again and maybe the teenager can get above the .300 BA line this time.

            Low-A Brooklyn – CF Jake Magnum: 2-5, R (.230)

Jake has slowly moved above the Mendoza line, a line most high schooler start out with when they turn pro.

Rookie-Kingsport – SP Michel Otanez: 7-IP, 1-ER, 6-K

            GCL – SP Josh Wolf: 1-IP, 0-R, 2-K, 0.00

Wolf’s first pro outing was short but sweet. Do you think he can keep up the 18.00 K/BB ratio? LOL

            DSL-2 – CF Dyron Campos: 3-5, .341

Gave Dyron a blue star today

Sunday, July 21st

AA-Binghamton…

Activated RP Austin McGeorge and sent to A+ St. Lucie.

Placed RP Ryder Ryan on the Temp-IL

      Activated OF Will Toffey.

      Kudos –

            AA-Binghamton – SP Harol Gonzalez: 6-IP, ER, 8-K

A+ St. Lucie – SP Austin McGeorge: 5-IP, 0-ER, 5-K, 0.00

Was sent back to Lucy to make room for the promotion of Kevin Smith to his slot with the B-Mets.

            A-Columbia – 3B/P Brian Sharp: 3-4, 1-IP, ER

            Low-A Brooklyn – DH Jake Magnum: 3-5 R, .254
Jake’s bat continues to heat up. Hitting .306 in the last 10 games

            Rookie-Kingsport –

            GCL – 3B Jose Peroza: 3-4 2-R, 6th HR, RBI, .328
This guy has earned a bunch of kudos in my posts; however he is currently blocked by Brett Baty in K-Port.

           Kudos –

           AA-Binghamton SP Tommy Wilson: 6-IP, 0-R, 2-K

A+ St. Lucie SP Thomas Szapucki: 5-IP, 77-P, 0-R,  9-K, 2.03

With this outing, Szapucki has returned to the status of top starter in the chain.

Reports from Florida is, though his full velo hasn’t returned (maybe being held back to develop arm strength post TJS) but his off-speed stuff comes in nasty.

It seems to me that he is a lock to open the 2020 season as SP1 in the B-Mets rotation and be on target to hit Queens on OD 2021.

GCL RP Joshua Torres:  1-IP, 0-R 2-K, 0.00

DSL-1 – RP Pablo Marinez: 2-IP, 0-R, 2-K

           DSL-2 RP Kevin Hernandez: 1-IP, 0-R, K

  1. Kay might want to argue with you about whether he or Szapucki is the top starter prospect in the chain. Good argument to have. A very good one.

Peroza has set a new line, and it is far above Mendoza.

Austin McGeorge needs to pitch like that frequently.

We badly need a savage Wolf in the Mets organization.

Now it is time for Matt Allen to make his debut.

  2. Patrick Mazeika needs to be called up to AAA for the rest of the year and Colton Plaia, who doesn't run out pop ups and us hitting under .200, needs to be released. This move should have been made months ago.

  3. I wouldn't count out Oswalt. After all, didn't Walker Lockett just toss a gem when given the chance? The Mets need to let their younger pitchers know that the axe won't necessarily fall after one bad outing. That puts extra pressure on them. If they move a Vargas or a Wheeler they will have the chance to take an extended look.

  4. Tom

Kay had ANOTHER bad outing last nigh.

  5. Kay gave up 4 runs in 5 plus innings, Cuse had a chance to win up 1 in the ninth but Tim Peterson blew the save.

  6. Kay is a mid rotation starter at best.

Also, the guyks name is Mangum, not Magnum.

I agree, Mazeika should be in AAA.

  7. Woods-Richardson is pushing for the top level in our future pitching star list.

What's happening with Allan? Will he pitch this season? Is he in EXST now, of that is still going?
