Last night
four Mets pitchers combined to throw nine innings in a 4-1 loss in
Arizona.
David
Peterson started and took the loss while pitching 4 innings and giving up two unearned
runs on 5 hits and 1 BB with 3 K’s. Overall,
David has a 0.00 ERA in 10.1 innings giving up 10 hits, 5 walks, 10 Ks and a
1.45 WHIP.
Jordan
Humphreys followed with three innings giving up 2 hits, 2 BBs and his first
earned run of the year. After Saturday,
Jordan has a 0.93 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP in 9.2 innings, 6 hits, 3 BBs and 5
Ks.
Ryley
Gilliam then pitched the eighth giving up his first earned run of the year on
two hits striking out two. He now has a
1.69 ERA in 4 games, 5.1 scoreless innings, 5 hits, 0 BBs and 5 Ks.
Blake Taylor
then pitched a scoreless ninth to finish the game. This Fall Blake Taylor has pitched 4 games, 5
innings, 0-1, 3.60 ERA with 2 earned runs, 3 hits, 8 Ks, and 2 walks.
Patrick
Mazeika played first base going 1 for 4 driving in the game’s only run. Patrick is hitting .250 in 5 games with 5
hits and 3 RBIs in 20 at-bats.
Ali Sanchez caught
and went 0 for 2 with two walks. In 6
games Ali is hitting .188 with 2 RBIs.
Andres
Gimenez did not play Saturday. In 9
games he is hitting .294 1 HR and 13 RBIs.
Other players in Arizona include Catcher Juan
Uriarte, 0 for 3 with a walk in 2 games and Luis Carpio, .333, 5 for 15 in 4
games.
Blake Taylor - my prediction is you may see him in the Mets bullpen next season, perhaps even the opening day roster.
ReplyDeletePeterson and Humphreys looking good. Gilliam has also given up 4 unearned runs.
Sanchez in fairness has been on base 7 of 20 times, despite his 3 for 16, with just 4 Ks. There are 3 guys (non_Mets) on that team that have already combined to fan 46 times in 113 plate appearances, so Ali is good at contact - now he needs to get good at hits.
