We have winter ball updates below and a number of Mets news
from around the internet.
Yesterday, there was lots of news about the Mets being
interested in Starling Marte and lots of teams interested in Zack Wheeler.
The
NY post has the Mets being interested in Starling Marte. Mack’s Mets’ Mike Freire will have more on
this later today.
Rising
Apple talks about Jim Duquette’s crazy trade proposal for Starling Marte. “Duquette’s deal for Marte would send Andres
Gimenez, Franklyn Kilome, and either Mark Vientos or David Peterson to
Pittsburgh.” No. Thank you.
Reflections
on Baseball says the Mets should release Cespedes. He thinks the Mets should release him and
file a grievance against paying the balance like the Yankees recently did with
Jacob Ellsbury. He makes some good
points.
SNY.tv
has a story about how Wilson Ramos may have convinced the Mets to stick with
him next season. FYI, best Mets
Batting Averages last year at Citi Field where the Mets play half their games –

MetsDaddy's reached a little too far when he projected both Mazza and Kilome as possible players to be removed from the 40 man.
ReplyDeleteKilome especially.
He could turn out to be the big surprise, either as the SP5 or out of the pen in 2020.
Mack - my vote for over reach is Duquette’s deal for Marte. Andres Gimenez, Franklyn Kilome, and either Mark Vientos or David Peterson to Pittsburgh. Way too much. Only if Pittsburgh picked up Cano and/or Cespedes and their full salaries owed.
ReplyDeleteI like Duquette, but I'm glad he's not our GM today.
