The two I expect to have the 'biggest' years are Rosario and Conforto. They will both establish themselves as near the top of their positions.
I expect a bit of regression in Alonso, altho I also expect his stats will be a bit more rounded - less HRs, better BA, maybe a few more doubles, and less strikeouts.
I would like to think Thor will finally establish himself as an ace-like pitcher; I think he'll have a decent year, but not Cy Young worthy.
I think Matz will continue to be Matz. Stroman should be a very solid #3.
I could go on to name my predictions for the rest, but I'll leave it alone for now and just say that I think Porcello will surprise us with a good to very good year.
Mine is simple.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is cast for Diaz.
I think he will return to the kind of numbers he posted pre-Met and maybe, just maybe, we can stop reading all this Kelenic stuff.
I expect Diaz to be much better, that would not be a surprise. Now Cano having an All-Star year, THAT would make me forget Jay Bruce.

My surprise will be a carbon copy (or improvement) by JD Davis who will force his way into a FT playing role.
ReplyDeleteYoenis Cespedes. He will be motivated by the cut in salary, and it being his walk year. Besides, if he even steps on the field, it will be a surprise.
ReplyDeleteDiaz, Familia, and Cespedes will dazzle in 2020
