"THEY AIN'T HITTIN' WORTH SPIT, PAW."
But. through Monday's game:
Guess who is 28th in team batting average at .220?
The Mets.
Who is way dead last in runs scored with 44 in 18 games?
The Mets.
Maybe to some degree it is a Florida thing - the Nats are second to last in runs with 49 in 16 games. Out west, Oakland, by comparison, has scored 126 runs in 20 games.
Of course, the feeling is, the team will just start hitting.
In that regard, though, Michael Conforto's side tweak could keep him out for an indeterminate period, which does not help at all.
And, of course, Yoenis Cespedes has not played a game yet, though he has been reported to now be running full speed to first base.
If MC Hammer is out for a long period, the Mets may be looking to speed up their Cespedes timetable and actually have him go north with the team.
This just in: Jed Lowrie has retired from baseball so he can become a full time leg brace salesman, his true life's passion.
Anyway, boys, a suggestion: Kindly, please?
START HITTING, WILL YA?
There - I feel better now.
Progress - after 7 runs yesterday, they are no longer last in the majors in runs scored - they are tied with the Nats for last.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the Nats recently make the post-season?
ReplyDeleteReese, then we've got the division locked up.
ReplyDelete7 more runs today and scoreless innings from Betances, Familia, and Diaz. How sweet it is!
ReplyDeleteNice to have JD Davis back.
