Good morning.
Jonathan Mayo lists his top 2021 prospects –
1. Kumar Rocker, RHP, Vanderbilt
Rocker was ranked No. 23 on our Draft Top 200 in 2018 as a
Georgia prepster with a ton of arm strength. There were command issues and
that, along with a strong commitment to Vandy, pushed him to the 38th round. A
dominant freshman year and strong start to his sophomore year, with the same
high octane fastball-slider combination but with better command, makes him the
clear choice atop this list.
Prospects 365 already has a 2021 mock draft up on
the net. They have the Mets picking 12th (really?) and their choice
is:
C Adrian Del Castillo – Miami
College catchers are so valuable due largely to the scarcity
of prep catchers who make the MLB, and Del Castillo’s advanced approach and
offensive profile are a perfect indication of what a first round backstop
typically looks like.
2019 Miami Stats: 236-AB,
.331/.418/.576/.994, 12-HR
2020 Miami Stats:
53-AB, .358/.478/.547/1.025, 2-HR
Baseball Prospect Journal top 2021 high school prospects –
Brady House, SS/RHP, Winder-Harrow HS (Ga.)
House is the top prep player in the 2021 MLB draft class. He
is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound two-way player who is intriguing in the field and on
the mound. Offensively, he hits for average and power from the right side of
the plate. Defensively, he currently plays shortstop and handles the position
well, possessing a strong arm and smooth actions in the field, but likely
profiles better at third base or in the outfield in pro ball due to his size.
On the mound, House has hit 96 mph with his fastball and also
mixes in a breaking pitch and changeup. He is a Tennessee commit.
Bleacher Report posted the 30 players they currently

Colton Cowser, OF, Sam Houston State
Cowser has a smooth, compact swing that allows him to
consistently drive balls to all parts of the field. The 6-3, 195-pound
left-handed hitter is more of a line-drive hitter but has room to grow into
more power as he matures physically.
Cowser has hit .339 with 20 doubles, seven triples, eight
home runs and 60 RBIs in 328 plate appearances in 70 games in his first two
collegiate seasons.
Endless talent that really needs an ended COVID virus.
ReplyDeleteI would love to get my 'mitt' on Del Castillo
ReplyDeleteOK, so Mets drafting 30th get Annott?
ReplyDeleteYes Mack, the C would be nice, but the Mets will have to have a bad 60 games to have a shot at him.
