Robert Gsellman has been dealing with triceps tightness. He's playing catch but hasn't gone off a mound in a few days. His status is uncertain for Opening Day.

Wilson Ramos is dealing with a personal matter right now. That's why he's not in the lineup again.

Jacob deGrom threw 60 pitches over four-plus innings today, which is what he suggested he would throw the last time he spoke publicly.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) July 19, 2020
That should put deGrom on track to throw about 85 pitches on Opening Day -- maybe 15 less than he otherwise would have.
The only 2 pre-season games, less than a week from OD, and our #1 Catcher benched for both?
ReplyDeleteI don't get it.
Bill
ReplyDeleteOut due to a "personal matter".
Wow. Oswald. Must be doing something right.
ReplyDeleteTom - I think that is part of it. Also, they know Yankees will see deGrom in regular game this season. They probably did not want to give them an extra look at him.
