What’s next. The Mets and Orioles finish their quick two-game series on
Wednesday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. as Michael
Wacha faces John Means.
MLB.com:
Pitching struggles leave Mets with 'What if?'. Jurado and Kilome combine
for 14 hits, 9 ER as Giménez laces first homer.
Metstradamus:
“But somehow a team that is so desperate for starting pitching that they’re
stretching out one really good reliever and one reliever who hasn’t started
regularly since his rookie season not only loses Walker Lockett, but somehow
puts in his place somebody who is worse. And what’s scary about it is that it
took a lot of work to do this!”
Almost impossible to fall out of contention in watered-down NL with these silly expanded playoffs, but the Mets are pushing the envelope. Hard to see how they turn it around considering the abysmal state of their pitching.

The O's bunt like it's going out of style. (It is.) Powered by Mullins,
Baltimore's typical long-ball offense now a small-ball machine. “That’s what we
do when we’re at our best,” said Renato Núñez, who crushed a three-run shot in
the first and added a solo shot in the seventh. “We bunt, we move runners and
then we bring them in.” (What a concept).

Post: Mets’ Jeff McNeil heating up after getting help from old friend. After
Sunday’s doubleheader at Yankee Stadium, the slumping Mets utility man held a
video call with Patrick
Mazeika, the catcher who was a teammate for much of McNeil’s minor league
career. Mazeika, who is working out at the Mets’ alternate training site in
Brooklyn, suggested mechanical changes for McNeil, and the results were
immediate.

Jurado is broken. Can we return him to the store where we got him?
ReplyDeleteWe got Jurado for a player to be named later. I think I know the player you'd like it to be.
ReplyDeleteCan it be like Harry Chiti? Traded for a player to be named later who turned out to be Harry Chiti?
DeleteBob W.
That is my hope.
DeleteI think the Mets need to DFA three players today to get the new players that Brodie traded for onto the roster. Who do you think they will pick?
ReplyDeleteGood question Raw. I was trying to figure tgat out. I think JD Davis gets put on IL; Ali Sanchez gets opted to minors and one other - hope it is not a prospect.
ReplyDeleteHi John,
ReplyDeleteRojas said that Davis was day to day yesterday, therefore he probably would not go on injured list. What now.
Raw - Anthony DiComo reports: To make room for new roster additions Robinson Chirinos, Todd Frazier and Miguel Castro, the Mets optioned: -Ariel Jurado; -Franklyn Kilome; -Ali Sánchez;
DeleteGimenez or Guillorme - unfortunately will probably be optioned to the alternate site to make room form him. Now that Marisnick is back - Billy Hamilton could go but that would further highlight the mistake of trading Humphreys for him.
