The Mets’ best path to 8-2: win two of three against each of the Braves and Rays and then sweep 4 games in Washington against a Nats team that will be playing out the string. It’s not a likely scenario, but certainly possible. Just maybe they can get away with 7-3.

Mets news: They optioned Luis Guillorme to alternate site to activate Franklyn Kilome.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) September 18, 2020
Guillorme has slashed .347/.431/.429 in 58 plate appearances, but they didn't play him regularly & needed a fresh arm.
He can't come back to majors this year unless someone goes on the IL.

2 negative votes... Reisdorf +1 now are yes votes.

Pete Alonso is having a DOWN season, to say the least.
— Chris Vradis (@vradis79) September 18, 2020
Very reliant on HRs. This season, 12 of his 38 hits are HR... .215/.314/.441 for .754 OPS (106 OPS+ compared to 147 OPS+ last year) with 52 K in 204 PAs.
That's good for -0.4 WAR. NEGATIVE WINS ABOVE REPLACEMENT!!?? #Mets pic.twitter.com/RVFzCKp81b
Nimmo sits after a big night last night. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteAlso no Pete - may be time to give him a start high in the order (resting JD) and have Conforto and Smith hit behind him.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that Luis Guillorme is being optioned. Guess they felt they needed Frazier's right handed bat more.
ReplyDeleteWow! And Alonso sitting vs a lefty. Go figure.
