Word within the game was Alderson was not taking the job as #Mets president under Cohen without the power to restructure how he saw fit. He clearly wants a clean start with his people running baseball operations.

1/There is no better team or time to pull the bandage on total restructuring than the #Mets and now. For Alderson knows the terrain, knows many of the players since he brought them to the org, knows many who remain behind the scene, including his son, Bryn, who runs pro scouting

Let’s play a drinking game: when will #Mets.com reflect the new world order? pic.twitter.com/V67qJFoJjd

As for Brodie Van Wagenen, to me, this is a meritocracy. In the end, he sacrificed a lot of talent in trade and had very little return on his investments. He took a lot of aggressive risks, went against the grain, and lost. That’s the bottom line here. #Mets

Whether you like the moves or not against Brodie Van Wagenen and his team here, its refreshing to see the #Mets take decisive steps and quick action to make changes where warranted.

Gone are the days of paralysis by analysis, I hope.
A rival NL executive: "Who knew Sandy [Alderson] had it in him to be Michael Corleone? Today he settled all family business."

Jeff Wilpon will no longer serve as COO. Sandy Alderson becomes team president. Many other changes to come.

I’m somewhat surprised that Minaya wasn't kept on board. But also remember, maybe Alderson still stings a bit from Minaya being forced on him as a “special assistant" by Fred Wilpon in 2017. Looks like Alderson just wants all his own guys. #Mets

I’m in total agreement with all these moves. It’s on Sandy from this point on so why should he keep anyone that’s not of his choosing. Welcome aboard Steve. Today’s a good day
