Andrew Hoffmann and Ryan Hampe, both JUCO transfers from @LoganVolsBsbl, will be huge pieces for Illinois this spring. In fact, those two plus IF Zak Hartleb (also from Logan) form one of the best JUCO classes in the Big 10 overall. 

 

Alabama staying hot on the JUCO trail, picking up LHP Jake Leger. Works in the 88-90 range, misses bats with slider, changeup coming along, big piece for a loaded Iowa Western club

Among the best bat speed in the class. Super-rotational (think Bellinger) with natural loft and leverage. Suggests big future power. Quick, soft hands. Really manipulates a barrel.

An interesting Midwest arm to know is TJ Brock (RHP, Ohio State). Threw well today in front of about 10 scouts. Quick arm, FB sat 97-98 (t99); paired it with a power slider. This angle will give you a sense of the FB run. High leverage arm for the Buckeyes

At 2B, look for big things from Peyton Wilson, who hit .333 in 2020.

 

Went 3 went 3-for-3 in the scrimmage @aaronfitt saw, hitting line-drive singles that exited the bat at 100 mph & 98 mph in his 2 trips from the left side.
