Braylon Bishop

OF 6-1 196 Texarkana HS (AR)

Next On Deck -

18. Braylon Bishop, OF, Arkansas (HS)

6-foot-1, 195 pounds. Athletic frame with room to add strength in the lower half. High-end athleticism that’ll play at any level. Quick hands that whip the barrel through the zone; generates power from quick-twitch in hands. Needs to significantly improve his pitch selection and zone recognition to consistently hit against professional pitching. Left/left prospect that can play any outfield spot with the athleticism to succeed in center field. Project over polish right now; has pedigree.

PG -

Braylon Bishop is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 6-1 196 lb. frame from Texarkana, AR who attends Arkansas. Outstanding athletic build, strong with plenty of projection remaining. 6.62 runner, speed plays up on the baseball field. Arm strength has improved in the outfield, makes on-line accurate throws from a quick release with a compact arm stroke, centerfield range and athletic actions. Left handed hitter, hits from a tall stance , has quick hands and can whip the barrel, tends to get too inside in his hand path at times, high performance hitter who consistently squares up the baseball.

Pitcher List -

5. Braylon Bishop, OF, Texarkana High School

This uber-athletic prep outfielder just oozes potential. Plus power? Check (92 MPH exit velocity). Plus speed? Check. Right now Braylon Bishop is streaky when it comes to the hit tool, which is reasonably expected from a high schooler. Still, when he’s on a streak, he looks like a can’t-miss guy. He’s already one of the better high school players at 16. Like Leto, he’s played well on Team USA and whenever the light is brightest, he seems to go up a level. He’s going to be a corner outfielder, and his arm might mean left field.

Prospect Worldwide -

Braylon Bishop – OF: Plus bat speed creates a ton of body torque and hip separation that helps lead to Plus Raw Power that he can tap into. Grading as a 55 future Power hitter. A plus runner that should be able maintain his speed. Shows well defensively, but likely will get moved off the CF position long-term, but very well could turn into an Above-Average or plus defender in RF or LF with his Above-Average Arm, Plus speed, and instincts on the field.
