This fit just has me giddy, Brady House in Coors Field is a match made in heaven. The uber-athletic shortstop out of Georgia has been famous on the prep scene the past few years, showcasing his 70 grade raw power since he was 15-years-old. The hit tool is slightly above average, and it remains to be seen how he will handle velocity going forward, but he does not miss mistakes. A 30+ home run ceiling is easy to project due to his freakish separation and hand speed. Glove could be equally as impressive as the bat in all honesty, where it’s probably a 60 paired with 60 grade arm strength. If everything goes to plan with House, the ceiling is hard to fathom.

We’ve been pretty public on our questions surrounding Brady House’s hit tool. He had a pretty impressive week at the WWBA World Championships this week hitting more advanced pitching and hitting them hard. The strikeouts were down and he continues to look strong on defense. In doing so, House jumped up our board a good amount this week.
The elephant in the room here is Seattle’s reluctance to draft any high school players in the early rounds. Joe Rizzo was the last prep infielder taken in the first three rounds of any draft four and a half years ago. Conventional wisdom suggests the Mariners will go the college pitching route once again in 2021, but let me plant a little seed in your mind. There was only a handful of college baseball games in 2020. There is no Cape Cod summer ball. There’s no guarantees we’ll have college baseball next February. Say the Mariners end up with a pick in the 4 to 7 range... the team simply might not have enough information or peace of mind to select a college arm at that point. The upside and lack of depth in the system on the infield may be too much to pass up.
Brady House, SS/3B, Winder-Barrow High School
Another intriguing prep talent the D-backs can focus on is prep Brady House, who comes equipped with plenty of pop at the plate and a mid-90s fastball on the mound. If his bat wasn’t so advanced for his age, he could be viewed as a two-way prospect.
House is a physical specimen with his towering 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame. He’s an intimidating presence in the box and makes the most of his physical tools with a heavy right-handed swing.
House already is touted for 60-graded power, and it’s easy to see why. His natural bat path and brute strength create triple-digit exit velocities and easy pull-side power. He creates good leverage and absolutely barrels baseballs with ease. Scouts got a first-hand view of House’s elite raw power at 15 years old, when he launched a 450-foot blast in the U-15 Baseball World Cup.
Tapping into power is no concern for House entering the draft, and he continues to soar up boards with his profile and loud bat. He still needs to make consistent contact to let his power truly shine. His arm strength, size and lack of mobility may force a move to third base, which could be beneficial long term.
With the sixth pick in the draft, Arizona can take a swing for the fences on House’s power-heavy profile that continues to grow and develop.

Brady House, SS, Team Elite/Atlanta Braves Scout Team
After a summer of inconsistency with the bat, the WWBA World Championship was an excellent spot for House to reestablish his stock as one of the best prep bats in the class, and he did just that to the tune of a 1.200 OPS in 15 PA’s. House consistently punished the baseball with 100+ exit velocities and plenty of extra base power, and he’ll be in the top 10 overall conversation next summer if he has a good spring.
3. Brady House, 3B, Winder-Barrow HS (Georgia)
Of course, a lot can happen between now and the draft next July. Assuming there is some return to normalcy in the spring, there will be showcases, and House is the high school hitter to watch.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder reminds scouts of Kris Bryant, who also already looked the part of a big leaguer as a Las Vegas high schooler before spending a year at the University of San Diego and going second overall to the Cubs in the 2013 draft.
House hit .653 as a junior and possesses elite bat speed and arm strength. He throws 96 mph as a pitcher and has been clocked at 95 mph from shortstop, which puts him in the top one-third of one percent of all high schoolers, according to Perfect Game.
He boasts legit power potential, and even if his size moves him off shortstop, he could be an impact bat at third base.
5) Brady House, SS, Winder-Barrow HS (GA)
House has been a long time performer on the high school showcase circuit, possessing a very physical frame and an advanced offensive profile. House’s hitting mechanics are impressive. His fantastic hip/torso separation at foot strikes creates an extremely quick barrel that produces hard contact. He also gets natural loft to his swing because of near-perfect shoulder alignment and shows the ability to rotate and lift balls to his pull side, offering potential 25-30 power. His swing can look a little stiff at times, but he has mashed against the best pitching in the country for as long as anyone can remember. Defensively, he is a bigger guy and the projection of pedestrian foot speed as he ages makes it more of a 3B profile. Even if he can’t stick at shortstop, he still has good hands a strong throwing arm that profiles well at the position. He has the ability needed to be a potential above-average defensive 3B. House’s power-first offensive profile fits well at 3B, and the idea of a potential 25 homer hitter with solid defense at the hot corner is something that will earn him top-5 pick consideration in June. House is committed to Tennessee.

Brady House had a double earlier off a curveball, and now he has a single off a 73 MPH slider. Really good bat speed, shortened up his swing to get to this pitch and send back up the middle. Hoping to see more hits this weekend from House
Brady House – 3B: Long has been viewed as a Top talent in the class, and for good reason. Young for the class just turning 18 during the draft month, the Right-Handed Plus (60) Power from House is legitimate and some of the best in the class. Expect his defensive home to be at 3B long-term. If the Hit Tool (45) can show the consistency it once did, House will solidify himself as one of the Top Overall Prep talents in the class. He has a Plus arm that profiles well at 3B and has a chance to be an Above-Average (55) Defender there at his best. There is some 2-way potential here, but the future with Brady is in the middle of a lineup driving in runs .
2. Brady House, 3B/RHP, Winder-Barrow HS
I’m actually torn here. Half of me wants to go with Brady House and the other half wants to go with Luke Leto. Why did I go with House? Physique. At 6-3 and 210 pounds, this kid looks like he’s already a professional. House could have easily reclassified for the 2020 draft and been an early first-round pick. His potential might be the highest of any player in the draft. He’s plus across the board offensively, except for speed, and he’s already a good defender with a plus arm. Speaking of his arm, he can pitch too. He hit 95 on the gun as a 15-year-old, and has dominated at every level. Think of him as Bobby Witt Jr. with more power and less speed. I don’t think he’s going to be the No. 2 pick in the draft, but he would be if it were up to me.

House is a man among boys. At 6’3″, 215 lbs, he is the embodiment of the ‘country strong’ cliche and would be a welcomed addition to any team picking in the top 10. House’ Perfect Game metrics are ridiculous; his 96 mph fastball suggests he might be able to stick on the mound if he wanted to, while his exit velocity as a hitter ranks in the 99th percentile of 2021 draft prospects. Baseball America projects him to go to Detroit.
House would be on the cusp of his 18th birthday on draft night, so he would undoubtedly be one of the more raw choices on draft night. The Detroit Tigers have historically blundered the shortstop and third base positions, so House might represent an opportunity to solve those shortcomings long-term.
3B/RHP Brady House - Winder-Barrow HS (GA)
One uniting theme of the Orioles picks in 2020 was that Elias went towards guys with power potential. He might already have strong feelings about House, who McDaniel says “makes you wonder if he was built in a lab to play baseball.” That includes that House “might already have 70-grade raw power,” or at least 30+ home run potential, and he’s been impressing in high-level games even against competition that’s been older than him.
There’s not as much in these early, basic scouting reports to suggest he’d end up as some kind of Ohtani-like two-way player, though he is hitting 95 already, according to Longenhagen, and is listed as both at Fangraphs. Longenhagen writes of House as having “Dwight Howard proportions,” which I don’t think I have ever heard about any baseball player before.
