Mets: Sam McWilliams, RHP. “[Mets] believe that the right-handed McWilliams, whose velocity has reached the upper 90s, can provide depth for both their rotation and bullpen...he’s likely to receive significant time in the Majors after reaching Triple-A in 2019…That gives him a chance to make a difference for the Mets.

Mike’s Mets talks about the Dodgers possibly going after this year’s top Free agents and how the Mets one day may be like that in “Here's to a Future Lurker”.

  1. Love the Craig shot - including the 475 mark behind him on the CF waLL.

SAM MCWILLIAMS - COULD WE SOMEHOW CATCH LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE?

Cano looks ready for 2021 - even if 2021 is not ready for Cano.

David Rodriguez continues to do 3 important things - hit, hit, hit.

Snell for 3 high prospects - San Diego has plenty of those. The Rays survive on many of those.

  2. Also having birthday today, Gus Livaditis.

Sam McWilliams is out of options, right? He has to be on the MLB roster.

  3. Somewhere I read that Bauer’s three year stats are better than Snell’s. I’d sign him and Springer. I don’t know if I want Sugano or Ordozzi.

  4. Happy Birthday Gus! Thanks for letting us know.

I have seen different accounts of Sam McWilliams option status. FanGraphs for example says he has 3 MiLB options left. I guess we will see what happens come spring training. The Rising Apple article took he approach that he had to make the team due to the $ involved. That was sure the way things worked with the Wilpons. Will they be the same with Steve Cohen? I don't think so. I think Wins will matter more.

  5. Gus, happy birthday. Bauer’s advantage is, if 2020 was real, and my brother watched him and said Bauerwas nas-tee, then nasty is what helps win in the playoffs.

  6. Thank you both. I knew about Agbayani, but didn’t know about Knight.

On McWilliams, if he has options left then he’s starting in AAA. The inn is full.

On Bauer, if he’s nasty, he needs to be a Met. Cohen wants the best, it’s time to prove it.
