Aidan Stewart is a 2021 SS/3B with a 6-5 186 lb. frame from Montgomery, AL who attends Next Level Academy. Long, lean athletic frame with vast projection. Primary infielder; smooth, coordinated footwork, long athletic strides to ball, clean glove work and transfer, plus present arm strength and carry on throws. Switch hitter with very projectable tools from both sides of the plate. Well timed, calm approach, plus barrel accuracy and quickness. Flashed power potential with long, loud home run in game play. Ultimate projection stands out here, will only continue to improve.

9/18/19 - 6-foot-5, 178-pound, switch-hitting shortstop, highly projectable athlete, long, lanky frame with strength throughout, will continue to add strength and fill out. Offensively has started to really put it all together at the plate, is an advanced combination of hit and power tool. Has feel in the box and situational awareness, knows how to get the job, execute when called upon, does not try to play outside himself. Executed a perfect hit and run on Saturday morning, hitting behind the runner into right field, allowing the runner to advance to third base. Put on a show the rest of the weekend by blasting pitch after pitch, collected multiple triples as he consistently drove the ball middle/pull, capped it all off by crushing a HR from the right-side on Sunday morning (90 mph exit velocity). Can flat out play, making himself into a highly coveted prospect.

Aidan Stewart, SS - Aidan Stewart is a rarity, a 6’5’ shortstop, as there just aren’t many shortstops that size. I liked what I saw out of Stewart defensively at both short and third, as he has the actions to potentially stick at short, and while he is projectable he shouldn’t fill in to the point that he outgrows the position. The bat is a work in progress for Stewart, and definitely requires some projection as his present lack of strength and a launch angle that wasn’t always consistent led to some balls hit into the ground. This isn’t something I’m too worried about as he will get bigger and stronger, and does have some natural power in there despite the lack of present strength as the below batting practice video will show why you can’t ignore the upside.
