Scouting Report - RHP - Andrew Woods

 Andrew Woods

RHP      6-2      185      Ouachita Christian HS

11-7-2020 - PG -

Andrew Woods (2021 Monroe, LA) has had his moments over the years as a two-way prospect and is widely considered a very good athlete for a pitcher. The power arm is the biggest attraction and he proved that with 95 mph bolts late in the fall. His curveball is more of a force contact type pitch now, but it should develop as he understands the intent required.

Andrew Woods is a 2021 RHP/IF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Monroe, LA who attends Ouachita Christian. Long limbed build with a high waist and lots of physical projection. Deliberate delivery with a high leg lift, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot. Fastball topped out at 93 mph early, gets some cutting action glove side, works on top of his fastball but can get the ball down in the zone more consistently. Short slider that is well located. Straight change up. Good overall athlete, 7.09 in the sixty, shows his arm strength well in the infield with third base tools. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base, has quick hands with some bat speed and barrel whip at times, lots of moving parts he can simplify.
