ReplyDeleteYou are just not going to get good offense and good defense from a backup catcher. Hell, it's hard to find in a starter.
I am content with Nido's defense -- and the continuity and stability he brings to the staff in a year of high turnover -- and accept his limited offense.
Which has, not for nothing, showed signs of improvement. If asked to choose, I'd go with defense in that role over offense.
To me, Nido isn't remotely a concern.
