  1. 1st inning - 2 Ks. Not the best start.

  2. Alonso K's with 2 on and 2 out on three pitches - 82 MPH Changeup; 82.6 MPH Changeup; and 82.9 MPH cutter.

  3. Stroman 6 K's in 3 innings - 2 unearned runs...and he has the only extra base hit for the Mets.

  4. Unfortunately a very tough loss. The organization needs to change it's focus to where manufacturing runs is a priority. It has to be taught i the minors leagues on up to the majors. Get on, get over, get in.

  5. I’m with Ronnie in being disappointed that Dom didn’t respond better to being challenged that way,
And nobody else did either with the possible exception of Castro who seemed eager.
Could be some fight deficiency in this group.
And the league likely knows this.
    All bark, no bite.

  6. Rick,

I think the league knows a lot about the Mets including how they struggle against off speed pitches and don't retaliate after getting HBP. For the last few years they have been one of the leading teams to get HBP.

  7. Dom Smith thought bubble as he walks (very) slowly toward Alvarado: c’mon guys I can’t walk any slower, somebody hold me back.

  8. Brings to mind a vague memory of John Sterns saying after Piazza got beaned by Clemens during Subway Series that if he ever got a shot at Clemens on the field he’d take it.
Fast forward to the World Series and dugouts clear after Clemens hits Piazza again and throws the bat at him.
I’m thinking here we go John Sterns as I see him standing right next to Clemens. But alas all bark and no bite.
Some guys should just shut up.
