Mack's Mock Pick - #81 - LHP - Brandon Clarke

Brandon Clark

Mack's spin -

Ex-TJS pitcher.

Post surgery fastball is already clocking 96... projection to go up more... 3-pitch mix includes slider and change.

I currently have him as the 15th LHP on my board but that could go up before Draft Day One.

3-30-21 - Prospects Worldwide -

65. LHP Brandon Clarke | School: Independence HS, VA | Commit: Alabama | B / T: L / L | Ht: 6’4 | Wt: 215lbs | Age: 18.2

Coming off TJ. Arm looks 100% and the stuff looks better then it had pre-injury. Velo is up, touching mid 90s with ease, touching up to 96 with projection in the body and arm for more. Working in a both a Slider and Changeup that have flashed above-average to plus while showing ability to command all 3 of his pitches in recent outings. Big helium arm, who may not have finished his climb in the rankings by the time draft day rolls around. Swing and miss potential with all 3 pitches. Massive upside.

Maybe the most fascinating thing about Ashburn, Virginia LHP Brandon Clarke is that is looks to be getting easier and easier for him...

2-16-21 - Draft Sleepers -

Brandon Clarke, LHP, Independence HS, Ashburn, Va.

Perhaps the ship has already sailed on Clarke being a “sleeper” for the 2021 class, because he’s gotten significant attention after a loud performance at Prep Baseball Report’s Super 60 last week. At the event, Clark hit 95 mph on the mound and also showed good feel for an upper-70s breaking ball and a mid-80s changeup. Clarke raised eyebrows for scouts prior to the event based on a bullpen session where he sat 92-96 and some evaluators thought he looked like a first round talent because of that. Clarke wasn’t at many showcase events last summer as he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. Now healthy, he should be shooting up draft boards.

  1. Clarke sounds like a dandy. And already got his TJS out of the way.
